Meet the Producer: Huerto AzulHuerto Azul, which means Blue Orchard, is named after the crystal lake waters, the pure fresh air and the blue sunsets reflected at the Villarrica volcano in the South of Chile. Huerto Azul started in the long winter days, where native fruit, local wine and sugar would simmer on the wooden stove. Each product is handmade, following old fashioned recipes, with all natural and typical ingredients from the south of Chile. Chilean entrepreneur Patricia Martini first made these jams and chutneys for family and friends. 10 years ago, she opened an artisan factory, producing marmalade, jam, fruit juice and sauces to stock her four shops in Villarrica and Pucon in the south of Chile. She now sells her products to gourmet stores throughout Chile. These products are now available for export to the US and beyond for the first time. |
